Livermore-Amador Genealogical Society
In 1999, L-AGS re-published in print a 1936 index to the massive 1883 "Wood's History of Alameda County, California." Details of our project to resurrect this "lost" index are given on page ii of the index. At the time in 1999, we lacked the technical capability to post the index online. In keeping with our publications policy, we donated copies of the reprint to numerous local and national libraries, one of which was the LDS Family History Library (FHL) in Salt Lake City. In 2012, the FHL - not lacking in technical resources - created a digital version of the index and posted it online. We thank the FHL for this digital conversion, which we are proud to add to our own collection of online publications.
The best view of the Index can be assured by clicking on the link below to open the file, then telling the browser to download the file to your hard disk, then opening the downloaded file in Acrobat Reader.
If the file fails to open, or is not easily legible, see the instructions here.
