City of Pleasanton Library
L-AGS, in cooperation with the Pleasanton Library,
maintains the largest collection of genealogical materials in the Valley.

The Pleasanton Library is at 400 Old Bernal Avenue (map).

The Pleasanton Public Library offers access to Ancestry.com, HeritageQuest On-line, Fold3.com and the New England Historical Genealogy Society at the library.
Access to Heritage Quest On-line is also available from a patron's home.

Livermore Public Library, Civic Center

The Livermore Public Library, Civic Center, is at 1188 South Livermore Avenue (map).
Other branches are: Springtown Branch, 998 Bluebell Avenue,

Livermore Family History Center (LFHC)

The LDS Family History Center at 950 Mocho Street in Livermore (map) is open at the following times:

 Monday   

   9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Wednesday and Thursday   

   6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

  Saturday   

   1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Pleasanton Family History Center (PFHC)

The Pleasanton Family History Center is located at the Pleasanton LDS Church, 6100 Paseo Santa Cruz, on the corner of Valley and Paseo Santa Cruz (map).
The building faces north and the entrance to the library is on the east side. The center is open by appointment only.

The Pleasanton FHC offers access to Ancestry.com.

Oakland Regional FamilySearch Center (ORFSC)

The  Center is located at 4766 Lincoln Avenue in Oakland (map).
Facilities include "free" access to some of the most popular and extensive online genealogical databases in the world, extensive collection of microfilm and microfiche, several thousand volumes of books, directories, research guides, local histories, family genealogies, and periodicals.

J. A. Freitas Library (Portuguese)

The J.A. Freitas Library is located in the U.P.E.C Cultural Center, 1120 E. 14th Street, San Leandro, CA, 94577. (map)

This Special Collections Library was founded in 1964 and is privately owned and operated by the Supreme Council of Portuguese Society of America (PFSA). The library collection consists of over 11,900 works dealing with the Portuguese throughout the world.

The library is normally open to the public Monday through Friday 9:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. For additional information, visit their website at:
