Members are encouraged to carry a few of the cards to hand out to persons who show an interest in genealogy. The membership table will have them at general meetings, and I will carry some to give out at other meetings. The board meetings are held at my home, Drake Way, Livermore, starting at 7:30 p.m. FOR MAY ONLY, the meeting will be on the fourth Tuesday of the month, May 23rd. Most of our group are FTM users (from beginners to experts) who discuss problems and solutions, share successes, answer questions, and in general help each other with the Family Tree Maker genealogical software. Speaker Nancy Peterson, Certified Genealogist Nancy will talk about her new book "Raking the Ashes, Genealogical Strategies for Pre-1906 San Francisco Research." Nancy is the author of numerous articles in prominent genealogical periodicals including two in the National Genealogical Society Quarterly. She moved to the Bay Area several years ago from Washington State where she was editor of the Tacoma- Pierce County Genealogical Quarterly for six years. She has taught beginning and intermediate genealogy classes in adult education programs.
