The Sanborn Fire Insurance maps were conceived for, and throughout their history have been primarily used by, fire insurance underwriters to determine the risk involved in insuring individual buildings in urban areas against loss in a conflagration. D.A. Sanborn's Company founded in 1867 in New York City, was not the first of the type, but since that time has monopolized the industry. These maps, still produced today, represent the most detailed published information on urban land use for some 22,000 communities in the United States. Come join us for a fascinating look at a little known resource! Guests are always welcome. ________________________________________________________ Study Group Kay Speaks, Leader To Be Announced ______________________________________________________ Tri-Valley TMG Users Group Kay Speaks, Leader To Be Announced _______________________________________________________ Computer Interest Group Jim Lathrop, Group Leader. By the time you read this, I believe that all of the positions will have a nominee. I would ask all of you to think were your time and efforts could further the great work of L-AGS and to volunteer. It is our many volunteers who make L-AGS such a vital and worthwhile organization and to carry on all of the many projects we do.
