See below for details.. ANNOUNCEMENT As many of you know, several of us have been doing research for a Mr. James Lyster of London, England. We have just received word that Mr. Lyster will be coming to California in early September. We hope to have him at our general meeting on the 10th. If anyone has any information on the Lyster, McCaw, Pelle, Lavin, Elliott, or Taylor families from the mid 1800s to the early 1900s please let us know. Mr. Lyster would like to meet any descendants from these families. Malvern will share first hand experience as part of the pioneering Young and Sweet families. They were some of the earliest families in the Altamont and Patterson Pass areas. It should be noted that the restored 1878 Young House is one of the oldest surviving houses in the Altamont Pass area.
