======================================================================== LIVERMORE-AMADOR GENEALOGICAL SOCIETY E-BULLETIN FOR JUNE June 1, 2002 ======================================================================== Meeting Reminder The Family Tree Maker group will meet Thursday evening. See below for details ANNOUNCEMENTS More books to circulate More of our books at the Pleasanton Library will be allowed to circulate under a new policy approved this week by the L-AGS Board. Many of the genealogy books in the library, including those owned by L-AGS, are of a "how-to" or "techniques" nature. Often patrons in the library have only an hour or two to spare in the building - not long enough to make in- depth use of such books. Allowing these books to be checked out will be a help to genealogists trying to improve their skills. The library committee will decide which books to reclassify. Those changed will be moved from the current "library-use only" stacks and placed among the regular circulating books, keeping the same call numbers they have now. Ownership of the books will not change. - - - - - Summer meeting schedules The Family Tree Maker and Computer Interest Groups meet during most of the year in the Livermore Adult Education Facility (formerly the Sonoma Avenue School), 543 Sonoma Ave., Livermore. The school closes during the summer. The FTM Group meeting FOR AUGUST ONLY will be at Mocho Street LDS Church, 950 Mocho Street, Livermore. There will be no FTM Group meeting in July because of a conflict with the Fourth of July. The CIG meetings for JUNE, JULY and AUGUST will all be moved to the Mocho Street site. We are grateful to Bill and Marlene Silver of the LDS Church for their continuing help in securing such hospitality from the Church. - - - - - Membership report Kaye Strickland, Membership Chairperson We currently have 183 memberships comprising 225 individuals Delayed renewal from 2001: Marie Abbott New members: Joe and Barbara Barton.
