You may not know that Tillie descends from a number of the early valley pioneer families. Tillie and a few other Livermore natives traveled the California Trail ("The 2000 Mile Long Graveyard") from Independence, Missouri, west to California. This was the route that Tillie's ancestor, Daniel Teeter, took during the Gold Rush as he brought cattle to California. We will also learn some of Tillie's genealogy tricks as she uncovered facts about not only Dan Teeter, but also some of his friends, the Stanleys, Mendenhalls and Bernals. Bring a friend. Visitors are welcome. Many of the works for which he was responsible are marked by laudatory monuments. He was well known in the community, often being invited to play a key role in civic and religious ceremonies. He was a pious man, proud of having helped many a local citizen on the way to a better life." Translation: he was a gravedigger. ======================================================================
