E. "Robbie" Robinson David Abrahams Members of L-AGS G. E. "Robbie" Robinson has been doing genealogy for nearly 30 years. Besides being a life member of L-AGS, Robbie also belongs to many other genealogy societies. His paternal lines comes from Kentucky, while his maternal line is from New England. His personal genealogy database contains over 19,000 names which he researched with his sister. Currently, Robbie is researching the members of Mosaic Lodge No. 218 in Livermore, from its inception in 1872 when it was chartered in Pleasanton. Robbie has many original letters written between 1854 and 1876 by his great-great-grandfather, James Rutherford, of Kentucky, to his son, Balis Rutherford, in Indiana. These letters talk about the weather, crops, prices and the Civil War. David and Jolene (Knoles) Abrahams have been studying their families' histories for the past thirteen years. They have both served as president of the Livermore-Amador Genealogical Society, are members of several other genealogy societies and serve on several regional and state genealogy boards. Even though their individual research is in different parts of the world, they work together to solve each other's genealogy problems. Jolene was recently given access to the diaries of Samuel Stone Knoles, a brother of her great-grandfather. Samuel Stone Knoles was an attorney and newspaper publisher in Illinois at the time of the American Civil War. These diaries contain copies of his letters and speeches, and were written during that period of time. They reflect the feelings not only of Mr. Knoles, but those of others he came in contact with. Robbie and David will read portions of several of these interesting papers so that listeners may gain a greater appreciation of that period of time.
