Jon Bryan has agreed to run for President, vacating the Program Chair. Other current officers have agreed to be nominated for a second term. The Program Chair is still open. If you would like to be considered for one of the six elective offices of L-AGS - President, Program Chair, Membership Chair, Recording Secretary, Corresponding Secretary, or Business Manager - or if you have suggested nominees, please contact one of the nominating committee members (Helen Ortez Eberle, Norman Bailey or Bill Farrand) promptly. The election will be held at the regular meeting on December 14, at which time nominations can be made from the floor, with the consent of the nominee. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- A new, extremely fast Web search engine can now be accessed through the links, "Useful Internet Links" -> "Search Engines" -> "FAST Search" on our Web site at . The query page snaps right up without elaborate graphics and advertising and does its searching at lightning speed. A recent test found hundreds of hits in 0.3 seconds, according to their clock. Thanks to L-AGS member Kay Speaks for recommending this new addition to our Useful Internet Links. If you have favorite genealogy sites that you think should be linked via our Web pages, pass them on to Vicki Renz at . ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dues for 2000 are payable by January 1.
