This interactive group focuses on various aspects of the Family Tree Maker genealogy software program. This month's meeting will discuss tips and problems associated with deleting entire family branches from your database. We will continue discussing various aspects of making books. Ample time is available for general problem solving so bring your questions or any issues you may be having with the program and the group will try to assist you. A computer will be available with FTM Version 4.0 for use, demonstration, and problem solving. For further information, call J'Nell Thompson at XXX-XXXX, or email her at XXXX@earthlink.net. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Regular Monthly Meeting for September 1997 Tuesday, September 9, 1997 - 7:30 pm Location: Congregation Beth Emek, 1886 College Ave., Livermore Program: Kurt Asplindh speaking on composing photographs as well as archiving photographs Kurt Asplindh from The Photo Shop in Dublin will speak on several items relating to photography. He teaches both beginning and advanced photography and is well qualified in this area. He also has experience in several different types of archival methods. He is going to cover what is available in archival treatments with the REAL expected life of the photographs. He will cover how to take good pictures including proper composure for your records. He encourages anyone who wants to, to bring their own camera and he will answer any questions they may have about it. If people want, they can also bring photographs that they have taken that they are displeased with and he will explain how to improve the quality of the picture. It promises to be an interesting session. Non-Members are welcome. Program: George Anderson speaking on "Your Word Processor Can Crunch Data Too" Your genealogy computer program is a marvelous tool for handling your family data, but there is a catch: first you have to get the data into the computer database. This always involves drudgery at the keyboard. George will discuss some tricks you can do with your word processor to ease, if not solve, this problem. He will also discuss lesser-known features of word processors that can be used to quality-assure your data and to help you write your book. Non-Members are welcome.
