Previously the years covered were 1950-1985. The L-AGS library is housed in the Pleasanton Library at 400 Old Bernal Avenue in Pleasanton. The hours are: Monday and Tuesday Noon to 9 pm Wednesday and Thursday 10 am to 9 pm Friday closed Saturday 10 am to 5 pm Sunday 1 pm to 5 pm L-AGS docents are currently on duty at the library on Wednesdays from 10 am to 1 pm and from 6 pm to 9 pm. She has been our president twice, and has also been president and an active member of the San Ramon Valley Genealogical Society. She is a frequent lecturer on a variety of genealogical topics. Mentoring at 7:00 pm, program at 7:30 pm Computer Interest Group Program: "The use of scanners & a demonstration of Family Origins software" Leader - Wayne Barnes Location: LDS Church, 950 Mocho Street, Livermore The L-AGS Computer Interest Group met on January 23. Rick Meggars and Nolan Aposle from Global InfoNet gave a presentation about Internet service companies, from the large networks such as AOL, Prodigy and CompuServe to the smaller Internet Service Providers (ISP). Global, which hosts the L-AGS home page, offers a free (no credit card required), 7 day trial period to evaluate their service. Their telephone number is XXX-XXXX. In addition, they offer anyone free email access if that is all you desire. After discussing the future of the Computer Interest Group, sufficient interest was expressed to continue the meetings. Various subjects were considered and the subjects listed below were selected. A number of people volunteered to be subject leaders and organize the meetings. Episode 1 was widely panned by viewers who posted their opinions to newsgroups on the Internet, but succeeding episodes have received favorable reviews. Three Bay Area stations are broadcasting the programs at different times. The schedules for February are: KQED Channel 9 - Sunday, 10:30 am February 2, 9, 16, 23 (Episodes 5, 6, 7, 8) KTEH Channel 54 Saturday, 5:00 pm, February 1, 8, 15, 22 (Episodes 3, 4, 5, 6) KCSM Channel 60 Saturday, 3:30 pm, February 1, 8, 15, 22 (Episodes 2, 3, 4, 5) Duration of the series is 10 weekly episodes of 27 minutes each. The PBS description of the program is: "'Ancestors' is a television series about genealogy and family history.
