The obituary information provided in this database was gathered from the three Livermore Newspapers: The Echo, The Enterprise, and The Livermore Herald. Data ends with 1905 obituaries, as that was the charter for this project.

Information from The Enterprise covers the years 1874 to 1876; The Echo from 1883 to 1905; and The Livermore Herald from 1877 to 1905.

L-AGS would like to thank the Livermore Heritage Guild and Barbara Bunshah for providing an index to the obituaries. It should be noted that our transcribers added names that had been omitted, and deleted those where no pertinent information was given.

Members of the Livermore-Amador Genealogical Society spent many hours examining the microfilms of these newspapers. Unfortunately, some of the newspapers were not available to be microfilmed, so we do not have a complete "run" for all of them.

It should be noted that information provided to and/or published in the newspapers may not agree exactly. Our transcribers did not change any name spellings or dates. Some obituaries have more information than others regarding ages and places of death.

Microfilms of the newspapers may be found at the following locations:

We wish to thank the following L-AGS members for their great efforts on this project: David Abrahams (Project Leader), George Anderson and Doug Mumma (Internet support), Marie Abbott, Lois Barber, Sandy Clark, Mary Maenchen, Jane Southwick, and Kathleen Young.
